Enova International earned $4.48 a share in the third quarter, $0.03 below expectations. Revenue was $1.01 billion, against $1.02 billion expected. Steve Cunningham, Enova's chief executive, said demand was healthy and credit was stable. Originations, receivables, revenue and adjusted earnings per share each rose 25 per cent or more on a year earlier.
Enova bought back $46 million of common stock during the quarter. It began the fourth quarter with $252 million of repurchase capacity still available. In the third quarter of 2025, revenue was $803 million, and the company started the fourth quarter with about $80 million of repurchase capacity. The revenue base is therefore larger, and the room for buybacks is much bigger.
Enova's investor relations page lists a third-quarter conference call for Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm Eastern.
The earnings shortfall is narrow. The open question is whether management keeps directing capital to buybacks at the recent pace, or whether the $252 million is used more slowly. Management's view that demand and credit remain stable is the premise that later quarters will test. A miss makes that premise harder to judge on earnings alone.
