Robert Half reported third-quarter earnings of $0.49 a share, $0.02 above expectations. Revenue came in at $1.36 billion, below the $1.37 billion analysts expected. The company had scheduled the release for 4:05 p.m. Eastern, after the market closed.
Chief executive M. Keith Waddell said talent solutions returned to adjusted year-over-year revenue growth for the first time since 2022. He also said global enterprise earnings exceeded the midpoint of the company's third-quarter guidance.
The earnings beat and the revenue shortfall point in opposite directions, so the read depends on which one carries more weight. The more important detail is the return of talent solutions to adjusted growth. Enterprise earnings above the midpoint of guidance point the same way, though one quarter does not establish a trend. Whether talent solutions growth holds into the fourth quarter will show whether the revenue gap was a one-off.
