CRH has completed its acquisition of Arcosa, a U.S. provider of aggregates and critical infrastructure products. The total enterprise value, which counts debt as well as equity, is about $8.5 billion. Aggregates are crushed stone, sand and gravel used in building and road work.
The companies first announced the deal on June 22, 2026. It closed on Friday, October 23. CEO Jim Mintern said Arcosa "fully aligns with our growth ambitions" and strengthens CRH's position as the top infrastructure player in North America.
The deal closes ahead of the first-quarter 2027 timetable that CRH and Arcosa gave in June. On Wednesday, October 21, New Jersey regulators agreed to let the purchase go ahead on condition that several hot-mix asphalt plants are sold. Hot-mix asphalt is the material used to pave roads. Any sales tied to that condition now run alongside the closing.
CRH will publish updated full-year 2026 guidance with its third-quarter results on October 29. That update is the first chance to see how the acquisition and the asset sales change its outlook. It will also show whether the pro forma net debt to adjusted EBITDA ratio the companies expected in June still holds. That ratio, at 2.4 times, compares combined borrowing with combined earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation, as if the two companies were already one.
