Circle Internet Group said Chief Financial Officer Jeremy Fox-Geen intends to step down after more than five years in the role. He will remain CFO through the end of December 2026 unless the company finds a replacement sooner. Circle has started a search with the help of an executive search firm.
"It is now the right time for me to step down and take a break before my next chapter," Fox-Geen said.
Separately, Circle disclosed that director P. Sean Neville, a co-founder of the company, resigned from the board effective immediately. The board shrinks from eight members to seven as a result.
The two departures land at the same time at a crypto firm already navigating regulatory uncertainty, and the timing raises questions for shareholders. Leadership exits of this kind often come before either a strategic shift or signs of operational strain, and the roughly five-month gap before a new CFO is in place leaves a stretch of time in which governance questions could linger over the stock.
