Meta now expects to spend between $135 billion and $145 billion on capital expenditure in 2026, a range that sits above the levels investors had been bracing for after several quarters of already elevated spending.
To help cover the cost, Meta is planning to issue nonvoting shares and sell additional stock, a step toward raising capital specifically for AI infrastructure.
The capex guidance reads less as a one-off infrastructure build than as the bill for that ambition.
That leaves investors to judge whether Muse Wonder's claimed performance can generate revenue that justifies spending on this scale, a question the model's launch alone could not settle.
